NAACP denounces UF graduation aggression

The NAACP called the aggression toward some black graduates at a University of Florida commencement “unacceptable” in a statement released Thursday.

“It’s unacceptable that the simple idea of being Black can trigger explicit and implicit bias which generates such aggressive responses toward Black people,” said Derrick Johnson, NAACP president and CEO.

(President) Fuchs ... announced that UF would create a task force to examine commencements, with Vice President for Student Affairs David Parrott and Student Body President Ian Green as chairmen.
